My eyes are attracted by the orange glow on the cliff and in the reflection but after a while I can't keep my eyes off the "less interesting" middle of image. As you said, there's simply nothing to do about it.

That being said, I still like the photo!

Thanks for your comments. I completely agree. It was a last light and I didn't have any other options.

Yeah... I know it's end of day and the light catching the mountain is what the main focus of this image is about, but I'd try lightening the snow patches a bit so that they don't look QUITE so gray and flat... Might be worth a try, anyway.

I love this...very nice. I see the complaints some people are saying, but I like what it adds to the picture, and it is amazing to see when mother nature presents these kind of things.

I agree with the previous comments, nice shot.  You might try a square crop, cutting the top as high in the trees as you can, eliminating the sky and the light mountain.  I think the bottom of the image would stand by itself.
