Hi gang!
I would like to get your input on Edinburgh, Scotland.
Am going there in a few weeks to spend a week-end and would like to have your input on the best locations to capture the city, from an architecture and vista perspective. I only know of the viewpoint from holyrood park but am sure there are others.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Classic shots from the castle, giving vistas across the city. Classic shots of the castle, from Vennel Steps & from the Princes Street Botanic Gardens, and from Blackford Hill.

Calton Hill is a must!
Arthur's Seat too... old town in general, Princess Street and Gardens can be quite good. Waverly Station/Haymarket Station perhaps?
Leith is probably worth exploring too for a different (and sometimes seedier) side to Edinburgh.
Also head out to South Queensferry for the Forth Road Bridge.

You could look for inspiration in the
Colin Baxter photo books
of
Edinburgh
- maybe there's a local library that has
copies
.

I will be there mid-May myself. Appreciate these tips. Note that several of Colin's books are on Amazon, very reasonable used copies. Just ordered two!

Forget photography! Edinburgh is a truly magnificent place for drinking beer.
The pubs are clean, welcoming, frequent, and keep their beer well.
Try drinking from one end of Rose St to the other, or anywhere around the University.
