First video production? Congratulations. It's informative, engaging and pretty.
If Joe was miked live during some of his comments, you did a great job. Sound is hard, especially outdoors.
What camera?

Joe Cornish has a really nice speaking voice, something I guess is a gift not all landscape photographers have. So he should be in more landscape photography videos :-).
Also nice to see more Linhof Techno users, and that someone still uses gradient filters (more should do that)!

ABSOLUTELY agree - I would change my iq + Alpa & DF for a techno of I could afford/justify it in an instant.

I'll definitely be doing more videos with Joe - most of the ones I've done for On Landscape have been quite static so far (one camera - most of them in front of computer or reviewing books). I quite enjoyed making the movie but you have be plan well or it can be quite time consuming.

Nice videos Tim. As someone who knows less about film making than Peter Berg (which is saying something - have you seen 'Battleship'), I too would like to hear a bit about the technical side of shooting - in particular what rig you used for steadying the camera (which I'm guessing was a 5D II/III)?

Hi Folks - a bit more about the video gear used. 2 Panasonic GH1's hacked for 720p high bitrate 14-140 and 20 f/1.7 lenses Audio Technika ATW-1821 with two belt packs and lavalier mics (plus fluffy balls for wind proofing) Glidetrack slider bar with the rest of it either hand held or on a manfrotto video head Post production on Adobe Premiere The Panasonics are great - easy to use, nice lens (especially the 20mm) |

Very nice,Tim. Joe is a very engaging personality and it's refreshing to hear an established person in the field speaking about equipment without having the sense of being 'sold'. It's clear to see, he like his choices, they perform well for him. End of story. He sold me without trying. Fortunately, the local Phase dealer is closed  On a technical note, he mentioned in the second video,I think, something like "native 35" when talking about the iq180 Was he referring to the native iso of the back or something else ? I heard that too, I'm pretty sure it is the ISO of the IQ180 back which is 35 natively. |

The native 35 definitely refers to the base ISO of the IQ180.

May I ask what graduated filter system he is using on the Phase One camera?
I believe I need to try using the grads more myself...
