The UK has the most varied geology in the world. Strange but true. Yorkshire's limestone pavements are just part of that rich tapestry. It's a lovely photo, but I'd like to see more clints & grykes, runnels, pits & pans, than all that blue sky. I'd have moved that horizon line up a bit. |

Thanks Mjollnir yes you wouldnt be the first to mention its unlikely English origins...a few people have thought it was the Australian outback.....yes i can see what you mean and it is a designated site of special scientific interest. regards shaun |

Excellent composition and execution.

Thanks Justan....Thank you for the positives. You make a very important point about safety from this location....the Yorkshire Dales are generally much less frequented than say the Peak or Lake district's...i didnt see anybody for about 6 hrs on that day, going here with ice/snow you would have to be very careful some of the cracks are about 4/5ft deep with lots of loose rock,if you broke a leg it could be serious....mobile phone coverage is patchy at best. |
