Interesting.  Thanks for the links Mike.

I have mixed feelings about the comparisons.  I don't think all of the 'with' examples are better images but it depends what you are looking for.  I shoot with a polarizer fairly often but often want just a bit of glare and I find it difficult to predict just the right amount is.  Live view helps some.
