Rich colours compared with your previous post. This one is more attractive. Has anyone calculated the value of red roofs to the Icelandic economy?

Very nice Icelandic landscape… The typical red roof captures the attention and show how empty the country is!

Depending on how you view it, it could be lonely, or a sanctuary, away from the city noise. I prefer the latter thought!

It is indeed "away from the city noise." The only city within a drivable distance of it is Akureyri, sometimes called "the capital of the north."
I do believe it was in this valley where I photographed and abandoned sod-roofed farmhouse back in 1974 and encountered a herd of the wild Icelandic horses.
Of all the folks who post Iceland photos here on LuLa, Rajan always manages to capture best the feelings I remember from that trip almost forty years ago.

Beautiful summer weather as usual
Typical of how many Icelandic people like to live very isolated...

Boy, Rajan this sure brings back the feeling of Iceland. Cold, remote, wet and yet somehow quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Heh. So true. : ) How many times have we blessed someone who happened to be wearing something red as they decorated our landscape?
