Stopping multi image "Edit in Photoshop"

The other day I accidentally started an Edit in Photoshop when I had a large number of images selected.
Once started I couldn't find any way of stopping it.
It got slower and slower - I can't actually remember how it ended.
Is there some way to stop it ?
Many thanks,
RzB
