P45+, P25+ question

I've read here and there extensively on and off about the P25+ and P45+ backs. Something I don't have it clear is if the these backs need a dark frame every time they perform a long exposure.
If I conduct say a 12 minute exposure, will these backs take a dark 12 min. dark frame exposure after the real take every time? Please make this clear for me. TIA

Yes they do. With a canon or nikon DSLR, they do the same thing, but you can shut it off. I don't believe you can or want to shut it off in the Phase One. It does kind of try your patience to wait all that time.
