Michael,
Speediest of recoveries to you! I, too, am currently in a 6-8 week recuperation from surgery for cancer in my arm (fibrosarcoma). 2nd time for this surgery in 5 years. Just letting you know that you will recover and be back to speed. Like you, I can't shoot as I'd like to, but it's a great chance to hone post-production and processing skills In LR & PS and catch up on older shoots that have been waiting for attention. Always an upside!
Best to you, Steve Hargrove

Michael, I went through treatment for stage 3 breast cancer in 2004. While recovering I saw your announcement for your 2007 Antarctic trip. Very aware of my own mortality as I was looking at the pictures from your previous trip, I decided that life is far too short to skip something as exciting as that. Though not at full strength for the trip, I participated in almost everything and what I learned and experienced on your trip left a profound mark on my life. Cancer can be a life changing experience; I very sincerely hope it can be as positive for you as it was for me. Thank you, you will be in my thoughts for a successful recovery. Diane

I wish you the strenght and the mental power to get over this. There are still a lot good images to take and plenty of cameras to look at for you.
Get well soon !

Micheal, during the years the website, forums and videos you created have been very important for me and the information you've made available to the whole photographic community is invaluable. I think I know what it's like to not be able to do what you really want/need to because of health problems (SCI since 1995) I sincerely hope you will soon fully recover and enjoy your private and photographic life for many, many years to come. All the best, Peter

Michael, I've been drawing on your site for 5+ years now. You've provided me with huge inspiration and rekindled my passion for photography which has brought a lot pleasure along with it. So please allow me add to the many other messages here and send you some positive vibes...I owe you a lot in return!
Best wishes for your complete recovery, Alan (Norfolk, England).

I'm overwhelmed. Thanks you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and wishes.
I'm resting at home, watching lots of Turner Classic Movie on TV and looking forward to the Olympics to begin. Walking around the house as much as I can and hopefully next week around the block. Healing takes time, but I'm optimistic.
My very best to everyone.
Michael
