Love this image except for the bright band of sky which really distracts me from the rest of the image.

I also love everything about this except for the band of sky at the top. It distracts from the mood and everything else about the image. Les

I agree broadly with the sentiments so far. Toning down the highlights could make this image a winner.

I also agree with the previous comments. To me, it looks like two different images put together.

My comment about the highlights was just that - not just the sky, but the bright foreground as well. The contrast between the sky and the foreground is even more unnaturally extreme now unfortunately. I still think this is a good image with real potential though.

The highlights near the top and bottom are just fine.
To create a more stable, unified 'mood', I'd try and actually lighten up the clouds/fog near the top. They're nearly black in my monitor.

I like foggy scenes and this is a good example of the genre. I think the composition shows the changing conditions at the time very nicely.
The only change I’d try is to remove the buoy on the right and see if that makes a difference. My eye is drawn to it. Other than that, it's a good composition and capture.

Seems it takes you guys to remind me of what I have all around me!! When I lived in Nj, I used to come up here all the time for just that image, but now that I live here, i se it all the time and I forget to stop and enjoy it! Will do this weekend.
Stay thirsty, my friend!

Ido like the second image. Definitely toning down the sky a bit helps and I'd leave the image alone. The "brighter" foreground lighting adds to the mood.
