I also sent a copy to my bother, David; who has tried to help.  His experience with scanned film seems to trump his lack of a calibrated monitor.  This is his version:

Hi Bruce, I really like the picture. Here's another version that helps to get rid of the purple sidewalk. The sidewalk's still a bit on the blue side, but close enough for government work.

Thanks. I like your version.  Before I saw yours had started on another and tweaked it some more after.  Anyway this one is less rosy, but...
