color temperature for raw conversion of IR raws

I am using a camera converted to record infrared instead of visible light, and am finding that ACR (the version with CS5) doesn't have a wide enough range in the white balance "temperature" slider to get rid of all the yellow color cast (i.e. I want to be able to push it below 2000 to get a reasonably neutral white balance).  This is a problem because the in-camera jpg file, which has its white balance custom-set (specifically for this IR camera) produces an unclipped jpg; but the raw file, when imported into ACR, can show substantial clipping at the high end for the same image.  This clipping would be eliminated if the temperature slider just went lower.  I vaguely remember reading somewhere that CS6's version of ACR has more flexible white balance controls than CS5's version, but can't find where I saw it.  Can anyone refresh my memory on this???  Would upgrading now fix my problem?

Or does someone have other suggestions for dealing with this problem (without unnecessarily decreasing my exposures), perhaps some other non-pricey raw converter that would get around this problem?  The camera I'm using is a Sony NEX-7 custom-converted to IR.

You might check out DCRaw, where you can set the RGB multipliers manually to whatever value you want.

Actually there is a free way to do this with the existing Photoshop or Lightroom, and it will make it a lot easier to edit IR images, I use this for my images. First download the DNG profile editor from Adobe Labs:
