Suggestions for fashion show and 800E

I am heading to New York and normally I just take my Iphone to take photos of the bridal fashion shows there.  The show is in October and I own a very well known bridal store.  I use these to show to my sales people and some customers who want to see when we place them on computers in our store.  But now have an 800E and wanting to know suggestions for taking photos, what lens or lenses to carry to these shows.  Most are well lit and I can bump some ISO but can also bring a flash.  So what to take?   I know a lot of you are pros and what would you suggest?

Hello,

Not knowing how close you are to the bridle models I would suggest the new Nikon 24-85mm VR lens and a Nikon SB900 flash with the dome cover.

I should have been a little more clear.  All models pass in front of me, about 6-10 feet on runways.  So I guess the 24-70 2.8 should work, with the flash.  I am also bring the 85 and the 35 with me to it.
