Is there anybody here using the new SANYO ENELOOP XX Batteries? Are they better than the regular ones? I would use them for flash strobes for wedding photography.

Do you use Eneloop's already? I use the regular ones for flashes. The only claim to fame of the XX series seems to be better resistance to crystallization from sitting unused for extended periods of time. Assuming their marketing is correct, if you are using your batteries regularly there shouldn't be any difference.

I use them in my flash. They're great. You get 25% more capacity over standard eneloop cells. They can also handle a higher current flow than standard eneloops. It's the best quality Low-Self-Discharge cell you can get.

Same here, I tried a set - nice small boost in capacity. I don't think it's worth the big jump in price though, I'll stick to the regulars which go for $40/16 all day long on amazon

They work well. They are more than acceptable in flashes.
The most important thing though, is that if you charge them and then leave them in the bottom of your camera bag for six months because your "battery rotation system" failed, you will still have a good battery to use. Eneloops aren't the most powerful battery on the market. Their primary advantage is their slow discharge rate when left unused. I think it is something like 80% of their charge remains even after a year. Most rechargeable would be unusable after sitting unused for a year.

I carry a DSLR, a couple of good lenses, and a tripod.

I get more pops from them than my 2700NiMH cells - they have no downside for me, inside flashes

Yeah! You are right! The camera rotation system fails sometimes... LOL! Sometimes for 3 months, sometimes for 12 months...LOL
Thanks for all the input!
