mac keyboards

I have a 27" imac with a--wireless keyboard---which I hate..  too small + eats batteries
most of the time I'm in lightroom or photoshop but lots of emails as well.

I'm looking for suggestions on better keyboards (wired)

+1 on a diss of the Apple wireless keyboard.

I have gone through many but always come back to the USB Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad; thin, well-featured and good 'touch'. Pity Apple have never been able to make a decent mouse

 I'll probably buy the mac aluminum extended keyboard which I have on an old i-mac ( works fine )

 Right on about the "mac-mouse" they're bad

I have gone through various input devices and found that the basic USB Logitechs with scroll wheel work well for me; however the SmartFish is my first preference for editing and doesn't demand batteries too much.

Same here, I'm always returning to the standard Apple aluminum keyboards.

Some of my friends love the solar-powered Logitech keyboard (or this one). I'm not tempted…

A bit off-topic: Can you guys tell me what you can do with the numeric keypad in LR? I've been using the castrated Apple keyboard for ages and now you got me thinking I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

I am a fan of compact keyboards so that I can keep the mouse closer. I have 4 Happy Hacking Professional keyboards. These and other excellent keyboards (mechanically switched) can be bought from Elite Keyboards. I even gave one to my Mom, who was a skeptic, and now she also loves it.

The Keypad is handy for rating; 1-5 numeric, 6-9 colors - works in library, develop and print modules....

Thanks for the reply. I use the "regular" numeric keys a lot and find them much easier to reach then the ones on the num pad.

Of course if you are left handed, the keypad has no effect on where the mouse is.

Matias just announced a new, quieter keyboard that claims to provide the same great tactile feedback as their previous model.  I'm old enough to remember the great touch feedback from the original IBM PC keyboard and plan to look into this when I replace my computer later this year.  Here is the Engadget link.
