Same inks in Canon IPF 8400 as in the 8300

Just ordered a replacement cyan cartridge for my Canon IPF 8300 and was told that the number was changed to the new inks that go in the 8400. It's nice to know that I'm still using the latest ink technology from Canon.

My understanding is that the new ink for 8400 is the same Lucia EX ink that was used for 8300. I think the new cartridge works on the 8300 and 8400 but the older cartridge does not work on the new 8400. I bet they are discontinuing the older SKU and just selling the new SKU moving forward?

Did the price stay the same?

Canon made different x400 models and different ink carts for Asia and the rest of the world. Inks from Asia market won't work with EU/US printers and vice versa, our inks won't work with Asia models. Finally - x300 carts won't work with any of x400 printers.
