Photographic rights aside, the part I enjoyed was how they demanded that he delete his pictures from a film camera.

The guards and RCMP overreacted, but the kid also disobeyed instructions.  He was told to stop taking photos.  He was on private property and the property owners or representatives of the property owners can forbid photography.  By disobeying, he is then subject to punishment.
