Looks like Föhn clouds rising above the mountains. If I'm right, that can't be too far off the Tour du Mont Blanc route

Wonderful clouds! I was there last week and everything was green with a clear blue sky so no snowshoeing! Yesterday, it starting snowing…

Tony Bill,HSakols & Francois...yes the clouds which I believe are high altitude Lenticular were stunning on that day they just looked so unusual. This one is significant for me even though it was shot on a cheap Sony compact handheld...it's the shot that got me into photography.
