Deer in the rear view mirror

I was sitting in my van on a back country road between the woods and rolling meadow waiting for the dear to come out as they do every evening near sunset. I expected them to cross in front of me as they usually do but I noticed that they were coming out behind me. So I took a picture. At least it is different.

The second picture was taken just before the hazy sun dropped behind the trees. I had heard a shot-dear season- and the deer had all scattered. This was the last straggler and located behind me. I almost did not notice him. The light was fading and I did not think I could get an image. I composed the frame, took a deep breath, and propped on the door sill, and gently pressed the shutter. Then I noticed that the shutter speed was 1/30 and I was at 150mm (300mm full frame equivalent). Oh, crap - that's not going to turn out. But it did. Surprisingly sharp all considered.
OMD, 100-300 at 150, 1/30, f8, iso400, lens stabilized.
