Downtown L.A. I brought the shadows down to accentuate the shaft of sunlight and the window.

Thanks for your comment, Tom. I agree, the composition is sort of schizophrenic. The light in the street was one of the things that caught my eye, but on reflection (sorry) it is not really tied into any thing else (e.g. a source) so it sort of just sits there. I think I will try a version where I pull down the light in the street to see how that works. One of the challenges I face is that I am so used to all the elements in a photograph that it's easy to tune out elements that are distracting to a fresh eye (though I did burn in the white shirt on the guy in the shadows to the right so he wouldn't draw the eye).
