I was rather surprized to see this Nikon D600 kit at COSTCO.  Any of you who might have observed this as well & your comments?  Raymond

Costco sells plenty of good products.

It appears that Nikon has the ability to make these in large quantities
and is choosing many avenues for selling them.

Personally I think it is wonderful that this level of IQ is being made so readily available
and at such a great price.

This leads to photographers having less overhead while still being able to offer great quality.

It is kind of interesting going to buy bulk house hold items, janitorial supplies for the studio... throwing them all into the cart and then topping off
the cart with a D600 Wink

I actually find it interesting that this level of camera is getting into just about everyone's hands.
While some think that they need to have a better camera than their client or uncle Bob, I think it works the other way too.
Working with the same camera as Uncle Bob or your client actually highlights your skill as a photographer
because the results are not attributed to you having a better bigger meaner camera but to your skills.

True, but a D7000 or Pentax K5 have already doing much of that for a few years.

Granted, a FF sensor gives more creative options for generic photography thanks to a bias towards shallower DoF. It is true that a D600 with a 85mm f1.8 can deliver world class fashion shots with a truly amazing look.

Cheers,
