They began, probably, with the invention of +1; what he said; I really like that; I'd crop it. There used to be a chap called Darkpenguin, here, who created wonderful ones. Miss him. Does anyone actually look at other's postcounts? If so, why? I do sometimes at mine, and take it as a health warning: too much sitting on an uncomfortale typist's chair. Most picture samples are so ho-hum to me that I do not care to post anything, not even +-0.
More seriously: why does the administration not move all picture postings clearly belonging to the Critiques section away from the Landscape & Nature Photography sub forum? Clearly those postings are not meant to provoke aesthetic discussions but begging for praise...

None of this is an exact science. Also I am sure that our worthy adminstrators probably have better things to do than shift threads all over the place. Nothing that is posted stops any individual posting an august critique if they so desire. Tony Jay |

You can get to a dozen with just one hand, if you do like the Asians do: use your thumb and count the 3 sections of each 4 fingers... More convenient and can be done discretely. |

If you want to see more in-depth critique, just do it. Model the behavior you want to see, and see if anyone follows.
