SpectraView II not compatible with new mac mini

I just learned that Spectra View II is not compatible with the new Mac Mini.  I just purchased a mac mini with the Intel HD 4000 video card. Now I need to 1. return the mac and buy an older machine or 2. try and calibrate using something other than SpectraView II.  At this point I'm leaning toward going back to my old slow system just so I can continue to use my NEC 221w.

Thanks for the response.  The monitor works, but when I run Spectra View II at the end of calibration.  I get a message saying the profile was not saved.  However, it does indicate that my monitor has been calibrated?  Nec sent me this:

Due to issues with the new Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and the recent update
to Mac OS 10.7.5, SpectraView II is not able to communicate with the displays
on some systems with Nvidia and Intel based video chipsets when connected to
the DVI inputs on a display. This includes both Thunderbolt (miniDisplayPort)
video outputs when using a miniDisplayPort to DVI cable, and DVI to DVI
connections. This impacts all MultiSync 80 series, MultiSync 90 series, and
the MultiSync P221W models. NEC is currently working with Apple to resolve
this issue, which is expected to be fixed in future updates to Mac OS.

The NEC MultiSync PA series and newer MultiSync P series models can utilize a
USB connection to the display if necessary.

Before you return your Mac Mini you might want to try a miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. 
I checked the Product Specifications for the P221W and it has a DisplayPort Input.

The warnings from NEC about the use of SpectraView II with OS 10.7.5 and OS 10.8 all deal with cables that output to a DVI connection. 

I had the same concern when looking into using the NEC PA271W with the Mac Mini or the MacBook Pro Retina 15". 

The answer I got from NEC was to use a "miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to the PA271W"

The Video Output for both the Mac Mini and the 15" MacBook Pro Retina is Native Mini DisplayPort output. 
What I did not know is that the Thunderbolt port is also a Mini DisplayPort. 

It is my understanding that all Thunderbolt ports (at least on Macs) can act as Mini DisplayPorts - Mini DisplayPorts can only be Mini DisplayPorts.

OK I'm still connected via HDMI and not the mini display port.  OK I'm relieved!

Yes, the display port approach is right.
I'm using a new Mac mini with 10.8 and SV II with no issues.  In fact, it's brilliant!

Yesterday I helped a friend hook up his new NEC 27 inch PA271W monitor with Spectraview II. We connected it to his Mac Pro tower running OSX 10.8.2 with a DVI cable and proceeded to calibrate the monitor with no problems at all. We checked the NEC website and the version that he received was the current version of the software.
