Transparent film for iPF 8400

I have a roll of "clear" film that prints on my 8400, but it's not really clear. The milky look is necessary, apparently, for the printer to sense the film when positioning it. But I need something that is truly clear, not milky. Instant dry also. Edge striping ok if that's what is necessary. Anyone have any luck with such a material that you can recommend by name and supplier?

The standard trick for feeding problem media is to tape a same-width length of ordinary media at the head of the roll.  That will get your media loaded, but then you will have to deal with faking out the end-of-paper and edge-of-paper sensors with pieces of tape, strips of media, whatever it takes.  Sorry, don't know where those sensors are on the 8400, but I'm afraid the edge-of-paper sensor is on the shuttle itself.

I notice that HP has a Clear Film product for aqueous printers, but their own Z3000 series are not included on the "works with" list.

Works great on a z3200.  I seem to recall having a few issues getting it loaded into a canon 6300, but it ultimately worked.

I'm guessing the Epson Crystal clear Film wouldn't work on the Canon?  I'm also on canon now, but a couple years back printed on Crystal Clear film-- Display Tran (which is not clear at all) and other translucent and transparent materials.  The Crystal clear was indeed crystal clear.  I remember that I found a bunch of other clear films that I had never heard of from searching forums of people using early photographic processes (tintype, platinum, palladium printing etc) and they were using clear film to make digital negatives.

How different is the 8400 from the 8300? I've never had problems printing on Pictorico OHP on my 8300, and it's basic clear transparency film. I've never needed to resort to any tricks to get it to sense the film.

I've tried the Pictorico Ultra Premium OHP film and it loads fine but it's definitely milky.

I'll give Magiclee a call for more info on their film. Problems I've had in the past with clear Oce film were slow drying times with pigment inks (instant dry with dye inks, apparently) and easily scratched, both of which I can't deal with on a job with ten foot long prints.
