Does make one wonder what the cat is waiting for. Or watching.

The cat is bored; the cat is sitting patiently waiting for its owner to finish making camera tests. The cat is happy to be bored, because otherwise it would find itself sitting in a dark celler waiting whilst its owner performs camera tests. The cat refuses to cross anyone's path. The cat despises photographers. The cat will never buy a camera nor join a camera club.

I prefer the the vertical one.
I agree, the landscape oriented shot doesn't reveal anything more than the vertical.

I prefer the first one also, that's why it got posted first. As a nice touch which cannot be seen in the small sample that I posted the cat's eyes are green, very close to the color of the grass.

And while we are at black things here is another one, probably a good lunch for the subject of the first shot.
Taken after many failed trials with a Sony HX30V, the ultimate compact superzoom watercolor camera.
