I cannot believe this picture has not elicited a response! Am I the only person who likes this?

I dream of that kind of light!

Spectacular Erik! One of those times when the curving of the foreground in panoramas actually works in your favor.

On a side note, aren't you concerned with image theft when posting such huge images?

Thanks Slobodan,

Always nice to hear from you!

I'm not really concerned about image theft as I am not a commercial photographer. Also, those stealing the images probably won't pay royalty anyway.

I'm much more concerned about crippling my images by small sizes.

But that's just me...

Best regards
Erik

... this time a panoramic...

Are you saying the first one wasn't? Just a panoramic-format crop?

Hi,

You are right! It is a panorama from built from several images, all at 40 mm. So the images are 40mm but the merged image is much wider.

Best regards
Erik

Hi Slobodan,

Yes you are right. The first image is just cropped, while the second one is a rotational panorama.

The first image was taken with a 14/2.8 lens by Samyang, also sold under Vivitar and Walimex labels.
I sort of like radical crops...

Best regards
Erik

Very nice. My favs are the first bridge, almost looks unreal, and the railroad tracks though I'd probably crop about 2/3 of the top of the sky. Hope RSL doesn't see this post Wink

many thanks - was a tough shot to get - it is a simply speaking, 3 shot panno - was hard to get the moon...  i fully expect to see the blade runner harrison ford somehwere  in the shot...

i had to blend exposures on the top area of the upper hoop... in each of the 3 shots - so this is a composite of 9 shots

used d800e and zeiss 35f2

i was actually standing knee deep in the river wearing rubber fish boots - tripod planted firmly in the muck... used shutter delay and acratec gp-s head

Hi,

Here is one from today morning. Ice, rocks and water. Funny arrangement of tripod and head to find unobstructed view.

Some oldies which I still love....

On my way to Canada in 1982. I travelled with my Minolta XM. I think I had a Sigma 18mm lens attached..

In Algonquin. Sigma 18mm lens. Had 1 exposure left on the roll so I stopped, had a cigarette, shot the last image and changed the roll of film.

2002. My 1st digital camera. A toy shop in Quebec.

2004. San Diego zoo. Darling, remember that nice couple we met at the zoo?

We're not commonly allowed so close to them, though.
