Some interesting lighting - particularly the bottom of the feet - make it a nice POV. I don't think most of the left side of the photograph is pulling it's weight.

That's an interesting point and I agree. A crop which removed most of the left-hand side, moving the cross close to the edge, gives a more powerful image.

The space, left of the cross, makes a grand zone for copy.

You see the residual mindset benefit of shooting stock?

I love how the light illuminates the balls of the feet and the undersides of the legs. It gives some warmth to the scene.

I can see Rob's point about the left side!   Wink

My reading is that the centrality of the crucifix and corpus adds a vitality and force to the symbolism which would become repose if the left were to be cropped off.

Added to which, borrowing the mantle of the pixie-peeper, the lens (af or otherwise) performs best in the middle! Usually.
