Urgently seeking help concerning Mail attachments

My problem started few weeks ago by Mail not showing in some emails the attachments while reviewing at the SENT tray. Instead of the attachment just a "Module not found" text.

Then some emails stop showing the attachment right at the email ready to go.

Then later on, no email showed the attachements. They can be jpeg's, text or entire folders. Sometimes they attach, sometimes they don't.

About jpg's: Apparently they were received just fine by recipients on Mac. Windows users can't see them nor retrieve them.

Now, I can't even see or retrieved received attachments in my IN tray that I previously visualized and retrieved. Now, no attachments show anymore anywhere. Zero. Instead of the attachments, only a non active "Module Not Found" text.

This is serious now. It's been progressive. I've looked everywhere in my computer and in MAIL preferences without luck.

I'm running 10.6.8. Please, if somebody knows or have an idea how to work this out, please help.

P.S. The names of the trays may not be accurate as I am translating from spanish.

I found the solution at Apple Support Community.

Someone that id's by aehrenr had this solution for a problem in Mail similar but different to my problem:

"Open the terminal.app and type

defaults write com.apple.mail PreferPlainText -bool FALSE

helped for me"

I had nothing to lose, so I tried it. I worked magically.
