So many good images, Zebra particularly struck me from William as did the posts from Chris. My contributions are a Bee and a butterfly. . P9140212 by JuliandeCourcy, on Flickr Nicely done, but this is actually a hoverfly (Syrphidae), or a 'bee imitator'. Bees taste bad to birds, so these guys try to camouflage themselves along those lines. Mike.

Hi and thanks for the confirmation Wolf. There was a huge mixture of insects on the day. Another image from the same spot. P9140171 by JuliandeCourcy, on Flickr

Egrets, storks and herons will eat anything that moves and they can fit in their mouths. They are the least discriminationg of any predator I can think of. They eat other birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, insects, you name it and they will eat it. Google images for "heron eating" it's pretty amazing and the egrets aren't much more pickey.
