One of my favourites from my years in Tanzania. This elephant was photographed at Tarangire Safari Lodge - perhaps the most quintessential place in East Africa, run by our friends Jon and Annette Simonson.

Terry, where is the catch light in the eye? Just kidding. Excellent capture.

There was a picture vaguely similar to this on despair.com (great site), with the caption "The journey of a thousand miles often ends very, very badly". Jeremy

I love this one and the square crop is perfect.

I took this photo of a wild Mustang mare and her foal on that dirt road heading to Toroweap area of the Grand Canyon. I was just driving along when I saw a small band of 20 horses. I had to stop and take photos.
… Very nice scene, well done. I like how the peaceful the mustangs look. Nice background also.

This is Betsy, our three legged deer. She hops around pretty good and is fast when startled.

I would like to ask for some assistance from the birders if they would be so kind. While I was out trying out the new Nikon 80-400 AFS lens on the local pelican population I ran across a feathered critter I have never seen in my over 50 years in these parts. I have never seen a diving bird go after catch and eat a blue crab. Could anyone supply a name? Thanks Larry _DSC2488.jpg by Larry Heath, on Flickr
