Monitor for editing portraits

Obviously a monitor with accurate colours and I'm assuming a wide gamut woud be a good start, but is there anything else to look for?

I am thinking about getting the NEC PA24W. I'm just unsure after reading about the textured surface of the screen can have an effect on what you see, if that will be noticeable on skin texture, and if it may cause any issues. Probably a silly question, but I just thought it's better to ask before spending the money.

At least get a monitor which can be turned vertical... Gives 4 times the picture area for vertical shots, which most portraits are. Modern monitors are getting too widescreen to my taste.

Might be obvious to some, but I have only recently started to turn the monitor (27" Eizo) when working on bunch of verticals. Takes 15 seconds to do it and is worth it.
