DotTune: AF tuning without photographs

Hello everyone,

I've developed a new AF fine-tuning technique that doesn't require taking a bunch of photographs at multiple AF tune values. Instead you focus once in Live View and then use the focus confirmation system in the viewfinder to find the optimal AF tune value. The technique works on both Canon and Nikon DLSRs. The original dpreview thread which served as the testing ground is here.

I tried Horshack's method, and got the same result as I did using LensAlign and FocusTune.  I think the positive is that you can use it focusing on something at normal shooting distance.  The negative is that if getting to one end of the range involves going past -20 or +20 (on the Nikon) you don't really know where the true endpoint is, although there is a workaround.  But kudos to Horshack for thinking outside of the box.
