Older i1Display

I have an older i1Display calibrator which was made prior to x-rite acquiring Gretag Macbeth. When following the wizard I am not able to set the contrast to 100% without disastrous affects so I set it to about 50%. I have an NEC MultiSync LCD 2190UXi. I'm thinking that perhaps this older i1 Display device is not able to handle the LCD displays very well. I obviously want a calibration device which works as it should. Would I be better off upgrading to
an i1Display Pro or ColorMunki Display?

It's gone. Get i1Display Pro.
