Thoughts-Modify an older digital back / iphone as preview/untethered?

Just thought I'd put it out there,  I have an older Lightphase digi back that is not in use and got curious if there were others that shared interest of possibly hardwiring an Iphone to act as preview and databank?  Guessing this would be more of a soft ware hack...  Anyhow,  would be nice to breath new life in the well served back. 

Well,  I bet someone has or inquired if it can be done.

any thoughts?

My only thought is that that seems like a serious hardware / software modification and I believe (assume) the Lightphase is a CCD which means its not going to be a perfect live view by and stretch of the imagination...think like an IQ180, its usable and serves a purpose but is not the same as popping a 35mm DSLR with a CMOS sensor into live view mode...

...doesn't it need to be tethered to be shot anyway? Why wouldn't you just get a tablet PC and then take shots and then look at them on there when they come through...

Before all of my stuff was stolen. I had purchased a Hasselblad 500cm etc. I also purchased a mini wifi camera which was usable as a remote live view for my iPhone. It was all very rudimentary I dismantled a chimney viewfinder and shoved it in the top. The live view picture was viewable up to 50m away. The main problem I had was the lack of automatic winder so I didn't have to come back to the camera to re-cock it. But I digress.

As for a databank, I assume your DB is firewire out?

There is an ipad/ipod/iphone camera connection kit but this would never be able to directly store files from a digital back AFAIK. The firewire DB would draw too much power for a direct connection. Via a higher powered device like laptop is the only way AFAIK.

yeah,  there is a PC tablet that has firewire connectivity,  though I'd like to constrain use via Iphone 4s or Ipad..   
That said,  and as per "dreidesq"  connection w/ my DB is via FW 400 and receives power via tethered.  I noticed this product that might offer the powering solution....

Brian,  I concur on CCD obstacle for the live preview function.
