Making synthetic DNG files

I've done some testing on resampling in the past using a combination of actual photographic images and synthetic ones. I am now interested in expanding that work to include raw processing, including demosaicing. For that purpose, I would like to make some synthetic mosaiced images that LR, ACR, and other raw processors can work with. I thought my best shot would be to create the images in the DNG format. I guess I could download the DNG SDK and try to figure it out, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a shortcut, like a program that will take TIFFs and data and turn them into DNGs.
Failing that, does anyone know of a suite of mosaiced test images aimed at catching demosaicing and resolution-changing artifacts?
Thanks,
Jim

LR and ACR will both accept TIFF files and save them as Linear DNG (meaning linear gamma but with demosaiced rendering). Don't know of a way to make a synthetic un-demosaied raw image...
