And besides, my BMW was the most poetic vehicle I ever rode!

Are you folks serious?!

The purpose of language is to communicate. Anyone who considers Jeff's book as not being about "digital" printing does not have clarity of communication as their first priority.

Does the word pedantic resonate?

Sorry Jeff, loss of downs and yards isn't penalty enough. As far as I'm concerned the game has been forfeit by these pedants.

See Wikipedia definition of digital printing.

I think Jeff's book qualifies.

Dragging this thread back onto topic for a moment...

My copy of The Digital Print arrived today. I've only had time for a quick scan of the first chapter but it looks as though it will be every bit as informative and useful as The Digital Negative.

That's my weekend reading sorted out  Grin

I just got my copy, too, and I look forward to it eagerly.

My problem is I haven't yet finished the Digital Negative, which is richly rewarding, because time spent with Jeff's books is time not spent out photographing.
I need an eleven-day week to get everything done.   Sad

Guys, thanks for the kind words...I'm really glad that it seems the book title isn't a total screwup. To be honest, a print from digital image data has never been anything other than a digital print to me unless you make a film pos or neg and then make a chemical print from that film...

Hope you realize I was just doing a little trollish chain-yanking.  Hoping for a "doooood", maybe. : )

Doooooode, if that's what you meant, you should have added smillies!!!

The first time I read the post I stopped and thought about it then realized it was bullshyte...I was mildly amused ad the subsequent discussion...honestly, there's no such thing as "bad ink"...if they are talking about you, that's far better than not being talked about!!!

Looking forward to your book Jeff. Once my 11880 is setup again  hopefully I can put to practise some of it, physically, but digital, ergh, I give a damn as long as my prints get better.  Grin

I'm with Eric Myrvaagnes on this one.  I got my pre-ordered copy of The Digital Print in the mail from Amazon the day it was released, but have yet to open it because I'm still trying to absorb The Digital Negative.  Ignorance is its own penalty.

Bought, it, read it, read it again, applying it to my own workflow.

Both this and the Digital Negative are essential reading.  Thank you Jeff!

Finally!
My copy has arrived.
No chance to read it in detail yet but a quick perusal shows all the good stuff that I expected and a lot of detail that I did not.
Essential reading for any who fancy themselves printing digitilized images.

My set is complete.
Thanks to Jeff Schewe for the time and effort expended!
