Is it possible to get PPro to read XMP metadata created by Lightroom or ACR when importing a series of still images for a timelapse clip?

I haven't tried it across Lightroom, but XMP does travel with an image file once created. Premiere Pro can read XMP. I've tested it with Prelude to Premiere Pro workflow.

If you're using the CC version, Premiere Pro will allow you to search by metadata and view only those you care about (still fuzzy on how it'll work) come October.

I know PPro is able to read and create xmp metadata.  But I don't think it will read the metadata from Camera Raw or Lightroom to pick up edits in either of those applications.  At least I can't figure out how to do it.

If what you pretend is doing the same as with the
Red files: to read the source settings and or affect the raw
Datas into the editor or affect them from the developper
Itself and see the changes in your timeline,
But doing that from an image sequence and instead of Red Cine X
It would be camera raw or lightroom or capture one,
I'm afraid it's not possible yet, and specially if you are not
In raw config as the moment you do a tiff, how would you
Affect the file? So it has to be raw workflow.
Red provide a separate metadata file, completly indepedant
From the image file and this is why you can load those
Metadatas into the camera itself or into a software that
Can read them, like PP.
When you do an edit into the raw dev, only the metadata
File is updated.(manually)
This: the separation between the metadata file and the
Recorded one is something I never stop to point the
Importance in the workflow. Red understands it.

But if for ex, you had apply a filter in LR, and you want
The editor to recognized the filter in question and eventually
Revert to the stage pevious the filter, forget it.
Same with cropping etc...

If you want to manipulate still images in a motion
Environement, and have your metadatas conected,
You need to be in After Effect or Nuke, means softwares
Motion specialized and capable to handle 32bits.
So you manipulate your stills in those and not in LR or ACR.

With PS you can do a little bit more with the layers
And alpha channels and some editors will work more
Or less well but not really we can talk about integration
At the level you are talking about in what editors are concerned
And there is not an all-in-one solution that covers both
Territories, still+motion+edit+compositing.
Sure it will come in the future but for now we're not there yet.

I think you have the answer right, Fred.  It's not there yet.  That's OK.
