Hi All, going trekking for two weeks to Annapurna Sanctuary toward the end of next month. I've trekked before, but with the altitude and exhaustion and trekking I find my mind is less than sharp and I miss photo opps as a result.

Thought I'd try to prepare more with some ideas upfront that I'd write down and carry with me.

Any ideas for photos in this environment especially out of the ordinary would be most welcome.

Love the rain....think of a plate of steaming dal baht under a thatch or canvas roof with the rain dripping down behind. The mud and puddles of the road. The smiles of soaked load bearers. Drenched socks steaming on a tent-line.

Get the porters to take shots of each other acting up.

Take a shot of a porter's hand with your hand, a porter's foot with your foot.

Take a shot of a westerner with a porter's load and a porter with a westerner's load.

Look for the phenomenon of small rocks of similar shape to the mountains around. This is a specific piece of geo-science not mere co-incidence, but I forget the name of the geologist. Anyone know?

Nepali children are good subjects absent the snotty noses. Back in the day we'd wave a rubber snake at a crowd of them and they'd scatter in panic. They love pencil and paper, so a few shots of them concentrating on writing could work in imaginative light.

In towns go for the wires, the various forms of transport, the commercial life.
