a photographic census of New York City"

A guy on the radio was talking about smartphone-like developments over the next few decades.  He felt one of the closer-in things would be apps that could identify a very large percentage of the random faces in images, which he thought would be a strong motivation for wearing Google Glass type things.  Kiss your anonymity goodbye, that staple of life in NYC will be gone forever.

Thanks for that URL.  Love the quotes.  While a Bresson or a Ronis etc might be able to communicate as much through a photograph alone, it's nice to sample an actual piece of the subject's mind.  One of my favorites...

"I was a sheep in the play at church!"
“Oh yeah? What was the sheep’s job?”
“To follow the bigger kids on to the stage.”

Thanks for posting it, Isaac. It's not street photography, but it is very, very fine environmental portraiture.

Great post. I love the quoted content. Following is one of many examples:

"We broke up in a Starbucks. A week later, I walked by and the place had been completely bulldozed to the ground. I always thought that was the Universe doing me a favor."
