Beautiful !
I have some similar places with marshes in my backyard and am still hoping to get the right combination of fog and light one day.
Cheers

Good light, and efficient composition, with the gold-brown patch of grass leading the way into the photo.

The light, as said by the previous gentlemen, is exquisite and the line of grass is just perfect to dive into this photo.

I've made a correction to the upper left hand corner.

Richard - the upper half of the image is where the interesting things are going on. The light on the tree trunks, the mist on trees left and the thin band of marsh grass moving across the middle.  Where the image starts to fall apart is the bottom half...which has none of the magic of the upper parts...somewhat dead weight. As an exercise, you might look at it with the bottom half cropped off. While the grass band toward the bottom right... does "lead the eye"... elements have to be more than just functional. /B

Great shot. One question... where do you live that you have unfrozen water?? Grin

Here is a crop based on Brandt's critique.

Here is a crop based on Brandt's critique.

Though I am missing the lower part for its detail and contrast, this version is better.
Its easier for me to get into the image and wander there.
In the old version the foreground was like a doorman, not letting me it.

Hum... The crop is a completely different image - and more ethereal.  I prefer your original crop as it is more cohesive and quietly powerful.
