"Shift + double click" = auto adjustment, etc. Worked rather well in the past. It seems that, after the latest update, LR is much more sensitive to the pointer (mouse) position, and it is almost impossible to execute a click or double click without first moving the slider a point or two.
For what it's worth, the Auto Tone adjustment works just as well by doing Shift+double-click on the parameter name instead of on the slider.

True. However, there are still many actions that require positioning the cursor over the slider first. For instance, when checking Whites and Blacks, i.e., Option + click and hold.
