The Don Valley Brickworks Shoots

You shot 2-1/4 right? Those scans should hold for software manipulation. Lord knows you have a ton of resolution. What is your intended final print size?

I don't know about you, but I didn't bring a flashlight to the shoot. I would have had no way of setting a perspective control lens because I couldn't see anything on the lens barrel.

6 x 4.5. I always scan at 4000 dpi-->huge files, plenty of resolution. I have made up to 17 x 22's (Epson 4000's max) with no grain, no pixelation...fabulous prints. I think I could probably go even larger if I had the printer to do it on.

It was much darker in there than I'd anticipated. Of course I'd only seen Michael's website images of the place, and of course they made the place seem much brighter. I coulda used that flashlight for sure, and I would not have been able to figure out a new PC lens in near-darkness, to be sure.

well here is my two cemt's worth guys. i must say the workshop itself was fun, but i am quite disappointed by my "performance". it was my first time attending such a workshop and i think i "choked". but hey it's always just about pixels. anyways here is a picture i like. don't worry, any comment is welcome, as good or as bad as it gets.

Well, I for one, like the mood and rendering. That rainstorm through the hole in the ceiling is very effective.

yes bob sunday morning. actually it's a blended photograph. first exposure was a minute, second one was two and a half minutes. obviously i tried to get the background and foreground just right, i really wanted that toilet to stand out. but i have to say it was kind of hard blending them. i used a technique that michael has on this site, but i need some practice. i still think the toilet is a bit too dark, but i just can't seem to get it right without making it look "fake".
