I have recently acquired a 50-110 for my H series and have discovered that Lee don't make a wide angle adapter for 95mm. As I understand it, the standard adapter will vignette at the 50 end and certainly won't work with a 28mm.

I have tried the push on adapter but it doesn't look like it wants to go on easily. Has anyone come up with a solution?

I probably will not help much but:

I used to have a Hassy system (205FCC) and the wide angle used the 95mm polarizer filter. but the actual thread to connect to the lens was 86mm (Now I am not sure if it was 85 or 86?)

I had to special order (or of course pay over $500 for a Polarizer filter) the lens from Calumet Photo.

I actually ended up buying a Lee's bellows system for one large lens and used that lens for more than the wide angle.

Also I did have a problem with vignetting on 50mm and 40mm lenses at small f stops (even with Hasselblad polarizer).

You might make a visit to a camera store, if there is one near you and try and find something there that will work for you.

I use the Lee push on or "slip over" filter holder with the 35mm, 50-110mm and the 300mm Hassy H lenses and I find it more convenient and I wish they made in 77mm. I do not get vignetting with the 35mm. I don't know about the 28mm.

It does attach easily--use relieve the pressure (turn the screw)--then tighten it once on the lens. Obviously, if you're using a 95mm UV filter, take it off first on the 35mm. Good luck.

Thanks. I just tried it again and it works well. I guess that the lesson here is to do things during the day in good light.

I will probably still get a custom one made, if possible. I had a custom B60 adapter that attaches to the hood bayonet made and it was great. That way I could use any filter on the lense and still be able to use grads.

I have been using the 4" Lee holders with the 95mm adapter on my Hassy 50-110mm without any problem. Of course i am using an aptus 65mm which is slightly cropped but no vignetting

Jeff, I should have specified: I use film so there's no crop on the 35mm--and I have no vignetting. I suppose this is less of an issue with the digital sensor being a different size. Good luck.

I tried out a 95mm adapter today on the 50-110. Even with the standard Lee hood it dose not vignette on the H3D. The 28 is an entirely different story. Any hood will cause vignetting.

I did find that a foundation kit doesn't vignette on the 28 so it looks like a hat is in order to shade the grad.

I tried the lee adapter again with my 35mm HC and no vignetting

I must be losing the plot. I just tried a few more shots with the hood and also with a foundation kit only and got vignetting. I can only think that I must have moved the zoom ring yesterday. I will try again over the weekend with it all mounted on a tripod.

I am using on an Aptus 65 and that is a cropped sensor relative to the 75 and of course film.

I just tried it again. From about 5 metres focussing distance at 50mm on an H3D there is no vignetting with a standard Lee adapter and 2 slot standard hood. Below 5 metres, vignetting sets in.

That should work well for me. I will still invest in the custom adapter for the convenience. Thanks for all your help.
