Now that we all went out and bought a lensmate for our G9's they don't fit into the pouch that we have. I found the Tamrac 5693 a good fit for the modified camera.

The Kalt wrist strap works well also.

I bought the G9 for it's compact size (as well as raw capabilities). I just can't see bulking it up with all of these accessories.

The included neck strip works fine for me.

I wanted to reduce the size of a DSLR to fit my flight bag so the size with the lensmate fits my requirements fine. I find it enjoyable to tinker with accessories so some fun was had as well. I'm now enjoying the camera more. The purpose of the post was to help others that might not have found a suitable "pouch" not to start a debate over adding size to the G9 and defeating part of it's purpose (compact).

My apologies, it looks like a great carrying case.

I'm not sure I've figured out how to post to this site but here goes. My G9 is on the way and I have been searching for a suitable bag that could be used with or without the Lensmate. Could you tell me if the Tamrac 5693 is a tight fit w/Lensmate and would it be too big without the Lensmate. I'm rather fond of the Tamrac bags and have several. I believe it's better to be snug than to have the camera just floating around in space.

It is tight with the lensmate and loose (about twice the volume of the camera) without it. Too loose to use without the lensmate attached.

That's exactly what I need to know. Thanks for the quick answer.

I have the very small Domke bag with top zipper (slings over a shoulder easily and you can stick other things in it--and its very light as a canvas Domke is. I don't remember the number but it easily holds the G9/Lensmate and converter lens if you use one. I find that I take the Lensmate off and stick in my smallish handbag a lot too. Unfortunately, I don't use it nearly as much as I thought.

I have a Crumpler Pretty Boy 3000 (L) which happily contains a G9 + Lensmate attached and both the Canon WC-DC58B and TC-DC58C (both with Lensmates attached); the G9 sits on top of the wide converter lens (it's the shorter of the two). The front pouch on it holds a spare battery, a filter stack, Raynox DCR-250 macro lens, cable-release and adaptor, and cleaning cloths. The whole lot weighs next to nothing when it's on my shoulder and makes a great travelling rig, coupled with a lightweight National Geographic/Manfrotto NGTT1 tripod. Of course the quality isn't as good as my Pentax DSLR kit, but (even including tripod) it weighs a heck of a lot less.

PS Crumpler model number is for the EU -- they're different elsewhere.

This is the carrying case that I use for transporting G9 and its accessories:

And this is what I use for the camera itself while walking about:

In fact, the second smaller hard case fits perfectly inside of the first one ...

I'm using the ThinkTank Modulus Pouch - perfect size.

I'm using my pocket for the G9 while my DSLR goes in the bag! Using a Jessops wrist strap rather than the supplied neck strap.

"I'm using my pocket for the G9"

...should have added that I have quite large pockets - in my fleece or coat given the normal temperatures we have in the UK. On the occasions when I would need a bag for the G9, I would use one of the small Lowepro bags.
