Full Version: Need paper that won't stick to plexiglass

I am planning to exhibit some of my pictures in a frameless format...sandwiched between 2 pices of plexiglass... and would like a recommendation on which paper to use. My concern is that the gloss and semi-gloss papers will stick to the plexi over time.

Any recommendations would be most appreciated. The pictures will be 30x45" and need to last at least several years.

Thanks,
Malcolm

Cotton Rag papers with a matte finish will do nicely.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any that you would recommend? Also, do you think that a baryta paper like Ilford Gallery Silk would work of is it too smooth?

Thanks

Quality matte cotton rag papers include (but aren't limited to) Hahnemuhle Photo Rag, Moab Entrada, Somerset Velvet, etc. Although the Baryta papers are wonderful, I would be cautious about using them in the way you describe.

Do not use RC papers in sandwiches or in any situation where the surface of the print will touch the glass. Paper-papers are fine.

In any case give the prints plenty of drying time, a few days if you can. Nothing invites horrific, tortured ripple like a not-quite-dry print in a tight sandwich.
