I'm about to make the jump and buy an Epson 3800, but I read somewhere that there are driver issues between the 3800 and Vista. Has anyone had compatibility issues? Other than dump the inferior operating system, are there any other solutions to the issues?

Jason,
I am not sure about our 3800. But, I can say I have not been able to get Vista and 4880 with CS4 to work well. Computer keeps shutting down. I am now going to try going back to XP.
I can not believe how much trouble Windows is. I also have a Mac with no problems running CS4 and 4880.

Thanks for the info Dave. Please let me know if XP works better. It's frustrating: I have to choose between an iMac and the 3800, and I definitely need a new printer much more than I need a new computer, but if they don't play together nicely, maybe I'm making the wrong choice.

Hi, my name is Jason and I'm a PC. But I WISH I was a Mac... laugh.gif

I've been running my 3800 from VISTA 64-bit with both CS4 and LR 2.1 for about two months with zero problems. VISAA64 appears pretty well rock solid, atleast with my setup.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing your experience. Maybe all is not lost...

I have a 3800 with Vista 32. Not one problem ever - runs like a dream. I have not installed Vista 64 cause Silverfast doesnt have a 64bit version for Epson V700 so stuck with 32 but no problems - No problems with CS4 yet either. Vsta on the whole has been more stable that XP was.

I'm running Vista 32-bit too, so I'm glad to hear that it's not a universal problem.

I'm another person with a 3800 and Vista 32 with no problems whatsoever. (I'm still using CS3, though.)

I'm running Vista 64, and the Epson 3800 prints fine from LR 2.1, CS3, Qimage, - I have not run into a problem that was not ColorMunki specific and printing so far in three months.

Vista is more stable than XP ever was.

Good luck with your choice as the MAC OS is quite nice as well.
