right now the photographer i help wants to create a catalogue for each job as he uses iview media pro to create galleries, checks them for sharpness and thus wants to have big thumbnails thinking that the 1.5 gb capacity of a catalogue will fill up too fast if he would do it that way.
he wants to create a folder for each job with higher preview images and then at the end of the year dump them all into one master cataloge and make the previews small so as just to find images in his archive.
his main argument is that he needs them in higher quality to put webgalleries up to send to clients, review, create pdfs........ but i thought once you have put your images offline and you only have the cataloge ( ie laptop ) iview cant do that anyways ? Or would the higher quality previews of Iview work to be sent off to webgalleries.
i am confused as with lightroom i always thought i need to have my files 'online' to do that.

as i have been sitting behind the computer for the last 2 days i am just wondering if we are heading in the right direction.

any any comments on that would be great.
