Hi,

Has anyone got their hands on the new Canon Pixma Pro 9500 MkII printer yet. If so, are there any impressions/verdicts?

I have one sitting right next to me, along with the new 9000 II. Not too much seems to be different with this model over the original 9500. Any specific things you may be interested in?

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the reply. I am interested in all the usual things - quality of output (both b&w and colour), does the 16-bit printing make a difference, are the profiles for third party papers as advertised really available, running costs (e.g. how much ink does it consume), do the nozzles clog, if you do not run it for a week or two does it need a clean routine to be run, and in your opinion is it value for money.
Cheers, Jonathan

OK. I am not sure I am going to be able to help on all of those items, but I can tell you that I am building the profiles for Moab Paper for both of these new Canon printers. Canon sent them for me to keep, and I doubt that I will use them past our profiling project. I have my intern helping me print the targets and do the readings on my i1 / iO device, using a 1728 patch Atkinson target. We are evaluating the difference between the 16 bit output this week to see if we need to create a separate profile for each mode.
