Would like to hear more opinions and thoughts about this issue: a Canon 50D user gets banding (1 pixel width) in all shots done at ISO1000:

The RAW file for download here.

Looking at the RAW data it seems to me as if the camera applies a different (software?) gain to odd and even rows (columns in the sensor, since it's a vertical shot) when constructing the fake ISO1000 file. Really very strange, if so, it would be a software problem? doesn't seem to be related to the sensor itself since it works fine at any other ISO setting.

Regards.

Hola Guillermo from La Costa Granadina.
My wife has a 50D and this problem doesn’t occur but after reading Keith Cooper’s article on noise see link below
http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article...1ds3_noise.html
I normally have 1/3 ISO speed increments turned off. Does this problem also occur with 800 or 1600? If not I wonder if it has something to do with the processing of these intermediate ISO speeds.
