A friend of mine just bought an Epson 7900. We've both been to Harman UK website and couldn't find the profile for this paper. There are only those for the matt kind. Anybody has an idea or knows why? I know from this forum that some people are using exactly this printer-paper combo. Please help

Are you using a PC or Mac?

There is a 7900 profile for this paper, but evidently for the PC only and not for the Mac.

Paul:
He is on Mac. We can see all Baryta paper profiles for PC but only matt for Mac. (it rhymes) tongue.gif
I wonder how those with Mac/X900 are printing this paper.
Maybe custom profiles? Anyone cares to share?
Thanks

the "PC" profile is an .icc profile, I think it will work fine on the Mac.

Edit ... just downloaded the PC version, loaded it up and it softproofed just fine in Photoshop.

I remember downloading one and i still have it if you need it. let me know and i can attach it but i think it is the same for the pc.
uaiomex
Well.. he can try it. Could it hurt the Mac to try to install it if it's meant for PC?
Please email me your profile. Thanks so much

No, it won't. The .icm and .icc extensions are just differences in convention. ICC profiles are platform-independent.

Eric. Thanks so much for the warning.

Glad to inform that I got the profile missing courtesy of Chris Mcdonald (hjscm)
My friend will be testing it soon.

My friend asked Harman for the missing profile. Here is the answer:

Dear Mr Barrera,

When looking for profiles for the Epson 7900 please follow the 'PC' operating system route. This will give you a full selection of printers/media types including the FB AL products for the 7900. We are in the process of removing the operating system segregation from our website as it is no longer necessary with todays operating systems.

Please let me know if you have any further problems.

Kind regards,

After all, it seems they are "universal".
